For the architectural firm Amann-Burdenski \u2013 Freie Architekten DWB I have worked on the OIKOS project. This project was one of the last projects within the \u201cVauban\u201d district” in Freiburg as there was only one single site left without a building. The OIKOS building is located at the northern part of the district, shielding it from the railroad track. Because of its location, the individual buildings of the project are both a landmark within the Vauban district as well as to the railroad.<\/p>\n

The concept was a mix of private condos and apartments as well as public funded and privately financed rental apartments. The idea was to allow the residents to live in a self-chosen neighbourhood and to develop sophisticated living space for different circumstance. Overall, this should help to create an architecture that will lead to a long-term stay of all residents in their own home.<\/p>\n
