For MSM Architects I have worked in a team that designed and developed a new office building in the centre of Hamilton. The design concept was an office building with four floors that had an atrium in the centre of it starting on the 1st floor level. Within this atrium, typical plants of the New Zealand’s flora were introduced in order to provide a pleasant atmosphere within the office areas around the atrium. On the ground floor level, a parking area was introduced to provide space for 60 parking spots. The main entrance was located on the east side of the building. Two elevators and a central staircase were integrated for the vertical circulation. The building provided office areas on the 1st and 2nd floor level as well as two apartments and a meeting room on the 3rd floor level.
